Learn Lutus’ Backup Rule:
“If you have three copies of your file, you actually only have two. If you have two, you actually only have one. Never, ever only have one copy of a file, ever.”
Corollary: “Never put all your backup copies on one storage device.”
When I was writing Apple Writer in 1980, a program that eventually made me six million dollars, I would regularly create a backup, put it into a steel, waterproof army ammo can, and bury it outside the house. That way, if lightning struck my house and burned it to the ground, I could recover.
And guess what, boys and girls? One day lightning actually did strike my house and wiped out most of my floppy disks (this was before hard drives were available for PCs). I dug up my ammo can, Apple Computer got my word processing program, and I became rich.
Back up up your files.
